Farmers' Clubs Chivi Film: Building Community Resilience Against Climate Change Impact

As we mark World Environment Day, Humana People to People is proud to announce the release of our new film, "Building Community Resilience Against Climate Change Impact."
This inspiring film shines a light on the remarkable work of one of our member organisations, DAPP Zimbabwe, and their Chivi Farmers’ Clubs project. Located in the heart of Zimbabwe's semi-arid Masvingo Province, the project tackles the harsh realities of climate change faced by some of the most vulnerable communities.
Humana People to People, along with our 29 members, is deeply committed to tackling climate challenges on a global scale. Through our Farmers’ Clubs programme, we empower over 354,000 farmers annually across three continents. We focus on regions most impacted by climate change, where progress can be easily reversed without strong adaptation strategies.
Our core belief lies in the power of community. We work hand-in-hand with people to identify climate-induced challenges and build their adaptive capacity through locally-led solutions.
The Farmers’ Clubs Chivi project, established in 2021, is a testament to this approach. By promoting climate-smart conservation agriculture, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable environmental management, the project supports 1,500 smallholder farmers to build climate-resilient livelihoods and ecosystems. This not only fosters income and food security but also reduces environmental degradation and biodiversity loss.
"Building Community Resilience Against Climate Change Impact" offers a powerful look at the realities faced by smallholder farmers. The film showcases the climate actions they undertake to better adapt to these challenges. It also highlights the strength of our people-to-people approach. By fostering community cohesion, the film demonstrates how working together can forge transformative paths towards a future with strengthened climate resilience.
