TRG the One and Humana promote the sustainability of footwear and the circular economy

14-04-2021

Humana and TRG BESTNETS SL, a company specialized in footwear care products and leather accessories, have joined forces in a pilot project to promote the sustainability of footwear and its repair.

The Foundation will provide 10 pairs of shoes per month to TRG the One, from its preparation plant for reuse in l’Ametlla del Vallès (Barcelona). The specialized firm will be in charge of cleaning and renewing part of the footwear delivered through its range of products for the care of footwear and accessories, in order to extend its useful life. The rest of the shoes will be delivered to different shoemakers in the area as long as they are repaired and, in this way, close the economic and social circle of the 3Rs (Renew, Repair, Reuse) on which this joint campaign is based. .

In this way, both entities affect the so-called R sector, that of Repair, in this case, of footwear. And, with this, they promote the circular economy and they do it, in addition, at the local level, since the headquarters of the Foundation (l'Ametlla del Vallès) and TRG the One (Artés) are just over 60 kilometers away. The shoes, once they are ready, will be on sale in Humana stores in Barcelona.

Humana works to strengthen solutions and initiatives to extend the life cycle of textiles and footwear and, at the same time, multiply their possibilities for reuse. For this reason, beyond the preparation for reuse, the Foundation collaborates in Spain with different partners in promoting projects like this one with TRG the One.

TRG the One, for its part, is developing this initiative within the framework of the inauguration of its new e-commerce trgofficialstore.com and the #Reused campaign that has just been launched: It is about renovating and repairing to be able to reuse and continue reusing until no more can be reused.
