Today we received a visit to our textile recycling preparation plant in Leganés from Juan Ramón Meléndez, General Manager of the Association for the Management of Textile and Footwear Waste, and Ignacio Duque, head of EnClave Ambiental.
They were accompanied by our colleagues Rafael Mas, Director of Institutional Relations and Projects, and José David Moreno, National Promoter.
It was an interesting technical visit, which allowed us to explain in detail our textile recovery system and, in addition, to offer our vision of the global market for used textiles.
We are living an exciting time in the textile waste sector: the legislative tsunami we are witnessing, the development of the extended responsibility of the producer and the Collective System of Extended Producer Responsability, directed by Meléndez himself and the path towards sustainability undertaken by the fashion industry give greater importance to this type of visit.
Working in a network and in a coordinated manner from all levels of the textile value chain is essential for the orderly, transparent and effective management of this waste.
