05-03-2024

The Humana Pueblo a Pueblo-Ecuador Foundation team continues to advance in the start of the project 'Promoting social, economic and cultural empowerment and leadership in Kichwa women in the province of Tungurahua, Ecuador', which has the support of The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation AECID and Humana Fundación Pueblo para Pueblo.

The objective is to promote female empowerment through the implementation of Women Farmers' Clubs. Through these groups, a total of 400 women from the Quisapincha, Juan Benigno Vela, Pasa, San Fernando and Tisaleo parishes will receive training and technical advice to improve their agricultural practices, increase production and generate income for the community.

Asoprocamor and Cuprotisa, the local associations involved

During this month of February, activities have continued with the associations Asoprocamor and Cuprotisa, respectively, in the communities of Alobamba and Santa Lucía, in the Tisaleo canton.

These meetings have allowed a first contact with people from the local communities involved in the project, beginning the registration of the women who will take part. In addition, they have been very useful in gathering quantitative and qualitative data through the surveys carried out.

These data allow us to establish the statistical baseline that will allow us to compare the results expected at the end of the project and measure the impact on the population. In addition, the registry of women who will be part of the farmers' clubs began to be prepared.
