Under Output 1, the project has focused on building capacity among the farmers through trainings on climate -smart agriculture technologies and other sustainable agriculture practices. The project established demonstration plots for vegetable gardens, crops farming and System of Rice Intensification (SRI) where 500 farmers were trained as trainers. 4155 farmers practice crop diversification and the project provided different 11 types of seeds for the demonstration plots which resulted in increase in crop production.

This training was done prior to distributing the animals to the farmers as pass on loans. So far 1615 families have benefited from receiving ducks, chickens, goats and pigs.
