The circular economy and waste management are the stars of the Cities Forum

01-06-2022

From June 14 to 16, the Cities Forum will be held at IFEMA Madrid, in person. It consists of 4 thematic axes with a common objective: to focus the debate on the quality of life of people in urban environments through initiatives that promote healthy, habitable cities in balance with their territories and ecosystems. And in this framework, waste management and the circular economy are essential.

The Cities Forum this year has 50 round tables encompassed in 24 thematic sessions and four axes of debate: 'Urban Planning', 'Renaturalization', 'Cities to inhabit' and 'Circular Economy'. The Forum has the confirmed participation of more than 250 speakers, including Humana.

Waste collection, reuse and circular economy

Jose David Moreno, National Promoter of the Foundation, will intervene in one of the tables framed in the thematic axis 'Circular and efficient cities'. This is the session 'Are we making progress in the implementation of the Circular Economy?', which takes place on June 14, at 5:30 p.m. in Room 3 of IFEMA.

The circular economy is the new paradigm to manage matter, energy, resources and time in a different way. Specifically, it is the new roadmap to update urban waste management and treatment systems, including textiles. During the Cities Forum there will be a debate on how to improve such relevant aspects as reuse, waste collection, treatment and recycling or the commitment of citizens in this regard.

Through the website of the event you can consult the complete program of activities. The participation of representatives of more than 70 Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American cities, and more than 50 organizations and entities, as well as experts in different fields of city management, is expected. Registration for the Forum is free, through its website.

The Madrid Cities Forum coincides in dates and spaces with the rest of the events framed in the Environment and Sustainability Forum: the International Urbanism and Environment Fair TECMA, and the International Fair of Recovery and Recycling SRR, the GENERA International Energy and Environment Fair and the Global Mobility Call congress.
