A team of Humana People to People is in San Francisco actively participating in the Education for Sustainability Conference, organized by CIES, the Comparative and International Education Society, which takes place until Thursday, April 18.
Precisely on Thursday Marie Lichtenberg, Director of International Partnerships of Planet Aid, an organization that is part of Humana People to People, participates in the Panel dedicated to the importance of food security for the development of communities and their influence on the education of children in Mozambique.
Lichtberg will talk about the experience of Planet Aid and ADPP Mozambique in the improvement of the educational system and literacy programs and the influence of all of this in the distribution and generation of food for the community.
Olivia Machel, of ADPP-Mozambique, will also participate in this panel, who together with Hayley Niad, of Cambridge Education, will present the results obtained in the reading tests among the students of the initial grade in the Province of Maputo, once their nutrition experienced a sensitive improvement. This is intended to show that there is a direct relationship between diet and academic results.
The 2019 is the 63rd edition of the CIES Conference. The organization focuses on improving education, one of the four pillars of sustainability established by the UN and the 2030 Agenda, together with inclusive social and economic development, peace and security and environmental protection.
