Humana Fundación Pueblo para Pueblo and Intimissimi join forces to ensure that the clothes we no longer wear have a positive impact on the planet and on people. Both parties are promoting a campaign in Spain, Italy and Portugal, and the funds raised will go to a project in Mozambique.
The dynamics of the campaign are simple: customers registered in the ‘My Intimissimi’ loyalty programme can visit one of the 145 Intimissimi shops participating in the initiative in Spain.
By donating 5 used garments (women's knitwear, T-shirts and women's pyjamas, except bras and panties), of any brand, and depositing them at the collection points identified for this purpose, they will receive a voucher worth €5, which they can redeem against a minimum purchase of €50 at the Intimissimi shops themselves.
The donated garments are collected by Humana, which introduces them into its textile waste management process. The campaign runs until 30 April, and the vouchers can be redeemed until 31 May at any Intimissimi shop participating in the initiative.
Thanks to Intimissimi's support, the campaign will contribute resources to the ‘Water for change: improving water security and resilience of women in Mossuril’ project in Mozambique.
Water security
The project aims to improve the water security of 250 vulnerable women in Matibane, Mossuril district, Nampula province. It consists of the installation of a solar-powered water supply system comprising a well, a water tower and a distribution system.
This will reduce dependence on unsafe water sources, improve access to clean water to combat disease outbreaks, and allow them to spend more time on education and income-generating activities. The project will also provide training on water safety, hygiene and water systems management.
More broadly, the initiative will help strengthen resilience to climate change and promote women's empowerment in the communities involved.
