Humana advances in digitization and launches an app for the customers of their stores

The mobile application for customers of Humana stores is now available on Google Play - very soon, also on the Apple Store. With the launch of this app, the Foundation goes one step further in its digitization strategy and taking advantage of new technologies.

The app has been launched simultaneously with 3 different versions, for clients in Spain, Portugal and France respectively. It is basically a loyalty tool through which the customer is informed of store news (promotions, discounts, new secondhand collections, events, etc). It also includes a virtual card that allows access to discounts. It also includes store locations and information on how to donate clothing and footwear through Donate Fashion.

The application enables the Foundation's paper consumption reduction strategy to be advanced and, with it, to reduce its carbon footprint, in line with other activities of the organization.

Just by downloading it and starting to use it, the client gets a 50% discount valid from September 15 to 27 in Spain and France, and from September 8 to 20 in Portugal, coinciding with the launch of the new secondhand collection planned for those dates.

Digitization of the Foundation

Humana has been working for several years on the digitization of the organization, gradually and according to the available resources and the nature of its activity. These are some of the measures taken so far:

  • Development of our own software for the management of the textile collection process.
  • Use of volumetric sensors in a selection of containers.
  • Development of specific software for the Department of Preparation for Reuse (still under development).
  • Hiring an online broker to supply electricity (100% green) to all work centers, which streamlines procedures, reduces paper consumption and results in efficiency.
  • Incorporation of the digital signature for all procedures with the different Administrations
  • Launch of the Employee Portal, to improve communication with the team and the management of human resources issues. With this, the consumption of paper has been reduced significantly and a considerable saving of time and improved efficiency has been achieved.
  • Promotion of telework in those departments where it is feasible - a process that has accelerated considerably due to the pandemic.
  • Promotion of digital communication with the different target audiences and edition of the Foundation's reference documents only in electronic format.
  • In addition, the Promotion team is equipped with a tablet that it uses in its regular meetings with city council and companies, which allows access to a digital library with all the information, image gallery and videos of the organization.

Drastic reduction of promotional materials on paper, being replaced by documents in electronic format.
