Mozambique's Teacher Training Colleges (TTC) just celebrated its XXV anniversary, in an event that was attended by representatives of the Government, teachers, students, former students and collaborators of ADPP-Mozambique, local partner of Human The event served to highlight the role that ADPP plays in improving education, through training in rural areas of teachers and primary school teachers.
"Since 1993, ADPP has launched 11 TTC's, distributed throughout all the provinces of the country, by the end of this year about 20,000 teachers will be already those who will have received training in them during these 25 years", explain from the executive directorate of the organization.
ADPP and the TTC work in close collaboration with the government and the regional administrations, under the umbrella of the Sustainable Development Goals, in order to strengthen the number of trained, motivated and committed teachers, as key pieces for enhancing education quality, equitable and inclusive. In addition to the theoretical and practical training they receive, they are ready to mobilize and raise awareness among local communities to promote activities that have a positive impact on the population, related to water, sanitation or food security, for example.
Quality of education and improvement of the living conditions of communities
"The objective of the TTC is to train teachers with a humanistic and solidarity vision, trained to employ the best teaching methods to obtain good results and to play an essential role in improving the quality of education and the living conditions of women. communities, "says Sarmento Price, Director of the Maputo TTC.
Throughout these 25 years, the Teacher Training College have formed 18,548 professors, of which 8,458 are women.
The organizations that are part of Humana People to People focus on strengthening education as one of the pillars for development, through three types of institutions: Teacher Training Colleges, Vocational Schools for young people and centers of preschool.
Vocational Schools provide students with technical skills in areas such as basic financial management for the implementation of small businesses, agriculture and livestock, construction, assembly of electricity or sanitation systems, among others.
